I was sitting next to my computer
due to my wait of the Padjadjaran
University announcement.
I already signed and through the UNPAD entrance examination, but I hardly
studied for that which made my brain turn to the pessimist mode. My father
suddenly appears behind my body, then shows me the same face of mine and asks.
“How’s the announcement?” father
said.
“Haven’t show itself yet daddy” I
replied.
“So are you sure you going through?”
asked with the worried face.
“I don’t know dad, there’s so
many people want to be the students of Padjadjaran University”
replied with concerned voices.
It was half past seven and I’m
still waiting, Unpad said they will announce the list of the qualified students
at 7 pm. Then I decide to sign in my twitter to know some information from my
friends. I see many wishful tweets about UNPAD announcement too, It means they
feel the same thing as mine. Then in 7 o’clock UNPAD twitter account tweet “due
to the technical problems, the announcement of the qualified students list will
be delayed until tomorrow, in the morning”. So I decide to sleep and set my
alarm to half past six.
In the middle of my dream, my
phone suddenly ringed. It was my friend Irfan called me; I’m half awake and
hang up my phone.
“Hello, what’s up Fan?” I asked.
“Hey have you checked UNPAD’s
website?” shows his enthusiasm.
“Haven’t bro, what is it?” my
curious mind started to works.
“I’m the students of the
communication faculty UNPAD” shows his delightful feeling.
“Oh my, congratulations to you, I
think I have to checked mine too right now, talk to you later!”. I replied with
the rushing voices.
I turn my computer on and do
double clicks to Mozilla Firefox, then sign my entrance code and password. I
was surprised that I will be the students of UNPAD too because I wasn’t so sure
I will through. Then I called my father and my mother to tell that I’m through,
they congratulate me as well. But I’m still concerning about several things in
mind, I’m accepted as the students of UNPAD means I have to start my brand new
life in Jatinangor. I have to live independently with brand new environment,
neighborhood, friends, society, food and every little thing there.
A couple weeks after the announcement,
I have to go to Jatinangor for the second time to assign the requirements of
the new student. Then I go to Jatinangor by myself with the bus that my friend
told, white bus with the red and black line on its body, the cheapest one. It
took 5 hours to reach Jatinangor from my hometown; I arrived at 11am local
time. I directly go to the Bale Santika which is the place that our
requirements should be collected. When I just reached Bale Santika, then
there’s someone who needed pen, so he asked me to.
“Hey can I borrow your pen for a
while?” stranger said.
“Ohh of course you can, here is”
I give my only pen.
“Thanks, by the way what’s your
name?” show his curiosity.
“My name is Ekky, what’s your?
Ask him back.
“Tama, I’m from Sukabumi, you
must be from Jakarta,
right?” he says it with smile.
“No, I’m come from South Tangerang pal, hmm I have to go now, see ya Tam” then
I go as I haven’t give my requirements to UNPAD staff.
Well I can say Tama is my first
friend in Jatinangor, but I forgot to ask him about the faculty he is accepted
for. After I gave my assignment, I decided to have a walk around at Jatinangor.
I go to the only mall in there, Jatinangor town square. It is very different
with the mall around my hometown. We can say it is still too conventional for a
mall due to the sketchy facilities. After have a lunch at the local restaurant,
I directly go back to my hometown.
A month after the requirements
given and the orientation days has passed. There it comes my first day of
lecture; I placed in the B class of 2010. I don’t know any people on that class
because I didn’t come when the class is divided into 6 classes. I have no idea
where to go about, then suddenly a person come to me.
“Hey you left your pen on me” he
said it behind my back.
“Ahh thanks, oh Tama you’re the
student of letter faculty too? What a fluke” I replied with the surprised
voices.
“Yes I am, what class are you?” he asked me back.
”I’m in the B class; do you have information about my class?” I replied.
“Hey we’re in the same class, you can come with me” he said.
After that he is become a real
close friend. We go to the several places together, like buying the books
related to my lecture. I can say he is a friend I’m looking like, because he
has same musical taste like me, we listen to each other hubble-bubble or information
and help each other whether there’s a problem. I already told him my fishing
target Varisssa, though he replied me with his silence. Also that everybody in
the class say that “if you looking for Tama, you better find Ekky”. We hang-out
to Bandung
every week; we’re in the one group in every time the lecturer asked to make a
group. When there’s a difficulties on task, we always study together in order
to solve those difficulties. Even when I played for English Department in the
faculty of letter futsal tournament, he comes to watch me and give me a
support.
But there’s a thing that I
haven’t told him about, my fishing target. He also never told me about his
fishing target too. Then one day he directly go without ask me to come with him,
my head starts to show his suspected mind. Since that time we rarely go to Bandung together. Every
time I ask him to go somewhere else, he always denied and declined without any
certain reasons. He never shows every
time I play Futsal. Then I decide to find out what went wrong with him. I
sneaked his back after Prose class; he says he has to go for a business. He
drives his motorcycle to the south side; but I still don’t know where he is
going to until he suddenly turns to left. It was Jatinangor Town Square; I have no idea
about things that he’s going to do about. I keep sneaked him until the food
court, then he sits alone and seems like he’s looking for somebody. A couple
minutes after that there’s a girl appears on the front of him. She is so
familiar, and then I put my glasses on. It was Varissa the girl that I really
like, she is my fishing target.
Since that moment I still don’t
know what to do, I just keep my worries by myself. I really disappointed by his
action. I never speak to him again even if he shouts something to me. This is
the condition where friend turn to enemy I thought. I was thinking about his
silence action due to my words about my fishing target, he loves the girl that
I love too. His silence answer guides me to the definition of liar. As he knows
I haven’t done any step to know about Varissa’s birthday, he does it before me.
Since that day I’m officially being his hater. Then my old worries started to
come, I’m afraid my brand new life won’t go well as the environment and society
aren’t accepted me. I have nobody to talk for more.
Then one day I go to Ciwalk by
me, it was Saturday evening I decide to go to there for refresh my mind. When I
passed the long chair that I used to sit every time I go to Ciwalk with Tama, I
decide to have a sit and thinking about nothing there. And then suddenly
someone I didn’t expected come with the girl I like.
“Hey Fahrezan, how’re you? It’s been a long time we haven’t
sat together and talking here right?” he asked me with his passion.
“Yeah you can spend your whole conversation with her now” I
said it without no careless words and go. But he suddenly pulls me to the
un-crowded place, and asked me.
“Hey what went wrong with you? You suddenly changed then you
gone like a wind?”
”Me? You better look yourself at the mirror? Look who’s just changed?” I
replied angrily.
“I just have to do some business, some of the time we needed
privacy, you know?”
“Try to chase Varissa as you girl is your business? Cool,
you better go on and use your own business?” I replied.
“What? You just don’t know any about me and Varissa?” He
looked like he hides something from me.
“Ohh this is the brand new Tama? We used to share anything
between us, and now you’re officially changed”
”You want to know the things that I hide; She is my younger sister from my
father’s affair! Are you satisfied now? Cool I have to go”
“Wait, I’m sorry” I replied with my regretful voices.
But then he goes to no where I don’t know, I tried to find
him around the mall but I can’t found him. Then I go to the place where we used
to sat together, then there he is there sit alone.
“My friend, I’m sorry I just don’t know that she is your
younger sister from the relation you already told. If I do, maybe I won’t do
those things. I shouldn’t have did that”
“Its not your fault, I think it’s mine because I didn’t told
you from the moment you said you love her. I just didn’t want you know that she
is my sister. I’m sorry.” She said it regretfully.
“Hmm I think all of those problems have been done, so don’t
you want to be my best friend again?” I said it with smile.
“That’s the deal I need to agreed” He replied with smile
too.
Then he became my best friend again, I don’t have any
worries in my mind anymore because all of my problems with my best friend
already solved. I also already adapted to my brand new life. I think it is
because the friend of mine who suddenly met to me. We can say they help me face
previous concerns about living in the new place. They help me to face brand new
environment, neighborhood, society, food and every little thing here. They are
very kind and nice persons, I can say there’s connection between us and he is really
pleasant to me. Though there’s a misunderstanding between us maybe the destiny
has been called us to be together as we met accidentally. Friends, they will be
on your side every time you need them to, unconditionally. If you ask me what
the meaning of the friendship is, then I will say Friendship is the most
important thing related to every single thing in our life that we should keep and also will influencing
every little aspects of our life, friendship is everything
